Halo 5: Guardians
As a console gamer, shooters aren't exactly my favorite genre, mostly because the controller, while comfortable, isn't really effective at changing camera angles at quick pace. I'm competent enough to fire, but accuracy is something to be desired. While I may enter the multiplayer scene soon, shooters will not be the first things I'd get. Thanks to the Game Pass I had the chance to play one shooter, which was pretty good despite my questionable marksmanship. I'm talking about Halo 5: Guardians.
The story is played in two characters' perspectives: Spartan Locke and Master Chief. While Locke and his team Fireteam Osiris goes on a mission to rescue Doctor Halsey, Master Chief and his team Blue Team secure an ONI research station, which is when Master Chief receives a cryptic message from Cortana, which directs him to Meridian. With the task complete, Osiris is sent to retrieve Blue Team after they went absent without leave. Will they succeed? Will Blue Team return? And what is Cortana planning?
While I expected to suck at this game, it was actually pretty good. I didn't need to aim to destroy hoards of enemies and I could even ram into them. The weapons and vehicles looked great, making me wish there was an open world section that would allow me to take both for a spin and get better at the gameplay. My favorite was the tracking function, allowing me to get to the objective quicker than just wander aimlessly. I bet the multiplayer section is just a good, but I can't really get into it for now. You should get it, in order to understand where Halo: Infinite (the next game) will go.
