Beverly Hills Cop I - Review

Police work may sound like an ideal career choice, if you are in the right city that is. Every city has its own secret dark parts, that involve gangs, drugs and crime never seen before and unless you play dirty, the city may never be safe, at all. However, go to far and your job will only get tougher and tougher, ever so close to losing it. If you value your life, stay as far away from trouble as possible. This is what I think about Beverly Hills Cop.

The latest sting operation by detective Axel Foley leaves collateral damage around Detroit. His superior Inspector Todd chews him out for it, telling him if doesn’t behave, he will be fired. He is visited in his apartment by his childhood friend Mikey Tandino. After hanging out at a bar, Mikey is confronted and killed by two men. When he is denied to investigate his death, Axel asks for a vacation, which Inspector Todd agrees, but tells him to stay out of trouble. Axel goes to Beverly Hills (Mikey told him he was a security guard at an art gallery) to find out who killed his friend. But can he do that without getting in trouble (and losing his job)?

Probably one of the most interesting action comedy films I have seen, this is very good. Foley may be reckless and hard to work with, but he knows what he is doing. The action is great, comedy is on point and the investigation one of the cleverest. Even Beverly Hills is not safe! A great film to watch for a good laugh, but watch out for cursing, deaths and blood.
